What a summer...

Wow. The summer is finally over, fall is here!!! The leaves are changing colors and the weather could not be more perfect to me. This summer has been pretty crazy, probably my craziest one yet. In the beginning of August, I met my this wonderful person. I have spent most of my time with her over the past seven weeks and I am enjoying every second of it.

With that said, I have been pretty busy haha. Working again, and spending time with her is basically my current life, but i wouldn't want to change it for the world. She means so much to me, and I do to her. It seems weird, but at the same time it feels like this was meant to happen. Everything seems to be in the right place right now.

More to come when I have a chance.

Our worst nightmares have come true...

The Alien Burrito exists... and will kill you...

My Friend and I were joking around a couple months ago and we thought of this. Take the scene from Alien, when the little one bursts out of the guys stomach... now think of a burrito doing the same... and you get the Alien Burrito.

It almost makes me not want another delicous Chipolte burrito... almost... haha.

I just finally did this crude picture today, and got a great laugh out of doing it. I hope you enjoy!

The Last Airbender

*May contain minor Spoilers, I will try to keep them at a minimal*
Based on the popular Nickelodeon television show Avatar: The Last Airbender, this movie most certainly delivers. It follows a young boy, named Aang who is played by Noah Ringer.

The world is divided into four elements Air, Earth, Water, and Fire. The Avatar supervises the these elements and keeps them all in check, with the help from the spirits in the spirit world, which only the Avatar can pass between worlds. The Avatar is also the only person that can master all four elements, able to bend each one.

At the ceremony in which he is chosen to become the Avatar, he becomes scared and runs away and is not seen for 100 years. While he is away, the Fire Nation launches an attack on the Air Nation, the one Aang belonged to, killing everyone there. Since Aang ran away, he was not harmed in this attack, but he became trapped in the ice somehow.

We meet siblings Katara and Sokka, played by Nicola Peltz and Jackson Rathbone, from the southern water tribe, who later become Aang's friends in this adventure. Katara and Sokka come across something in the ice and attempt to see what it is, it was Aang and his flying bison Appa. The siblings take Aang to their home when a sect of the Fire nation come to investigate a strange occurrence Katara and Sokka found Aang.

The leader of this sect is Prince Zuko, played by Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire). He was banish by his father, the Fire Nation king Fire Lord Ozai. While at the camp, Zuko finds Aang and forces him to come with. Aang escapes from the ship after realising that he is being taken to the Fire Nation, and meets up with Katara, Sokka, and Appa. The adventure begins from there, their destinies interlaced together.

----------

As a fan of the show, I was really pleased with this movie. Of course like all shows to movies, just like books to movies, there will be some scrutiny. They will not be able to capture everything from the show, but the essence is there. The acting was better than I had expected, and I had expected them to do well. Noah Ringer, first time actor, was wonderful in this, despite that it was his first time acting.

I definitely recommend this movie to everyone, even if you had not seen the television show. It is still pleasing to the eyes, and the acting is not terrible. You will be entertained throughout the movie. I hope my little background of the movie interests you into seeing this film.

I hope you enjoyed the review, and I do hope you check this movie out!!

Without Coincidence...

Without coincidence, there are no good stories.

I have started reading Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand. It is by far the greatest book i have ever read, and i am only a third of the way through it. The language and grammar of this book is far superior to so many other books out there. It is a weird coincidence for me coming across it. I can not remember who or where I heard about this, but the name of the book was stamped into my mind. I asked around to my friends I had talked to the previous weeks that may have mentioned it, but most of them have not even heard about it! I came to the conclusion that i had not talked to any of my friends about this book, yet I had found a desire to want to read it immediately.

I embarked on an adventure that took me downtown Stillwater, to the Valley Book Store. I had parked on the other side of downtown, wanting to walk in the beautiful weather of the current day. It was quite relieving to finally get down there an enjoy what the city had to offer, even if it was for a brief outing. When i had gotten there, I realised i had not been in this store for a few years, which was depressing in its own way...I had not been reading much. I wondered around looking at all the sections, I was lost in a sea of books. I kindly asked for some help from the younger female employee and she briskly pointed me in the right direction. Once I had paid for the book, i kindly thanked the young misses once again, and continued on my little adventure back to my vehicle.

I got in my car and headed homeward. Once I arrived, i sat down immediately and began to read. I quickly understood what I was getting into, this book was long...over 1000 pages. I mean, it doesn't seem like much, the paperback book I had bought made it seem manageable, but once i had started to read, it became quite clear that this would be a major undertaking. The words flow together wonderfully, everything about the way this book is written makes me overjoyed. It had been a truly remarkable find.
I can not explain this book in full, or in part for that matter. It is a work or Art, if i dare say so. I shall use one of my favorite quotes thus far as an example of the breadth of language used in every passage.

He glanced at her and did not answer. Then he said, "I like cigarettes, Miss Taggart. I like to think of fire held in a man's hand. Fire, a dangerous force, tamed at his fingertips. I often wonder about the hours when a man sits alone, watching the smoke of a cigarette, thinking. I wonder what great things have come from such hours. When a man thinks, there is a spot of fire alive in his mind -- and it is proper that he should have the burning point of a cigarette as his one expression."

That little passage is amazing, truly amazing. It is just a simple conversation between a newsstand operator and Miss Dagny Taggart.
The back of the book's description caught me a little off guard too, but in a sense that made me want to read it even more...

The astounding story of a man who said that he would stop the motor of the world -- and did. Tremendous in scope, breathtaking in its suspense, Atlas Shrugged is unlike any other book you have ever read. It is a mystery story, not about the murder of a man's body, but about the murder -- and the rebirth -- of man's spirit.

Please check this book out, there is no way you can be disappointed in the least bit.
